Steps to Take in the Event of an Accident
Step 1: Keep Calm & Assess the Situation
Activate your hazard lights, switch off the ignition & assess the situation (leaking petrol, fire etc).
Do you need the emergency services? Call 000 immediately if:
Anyone involved is in need of medical attention (ask for an ambulance)
The road is blocked or damaged (ask for the police)
Someone leaves the scene without exchanging details (ask for the police)
Step 2: Get Off the Road
If possible, move all vehicles off, or to the side of the road.

An accident can be very traumatic for everyone involved. Through Phil Gilbert Motor Group’s Accident Assist program we aim to reduce the stress and strain experienced in the aftermath of a car accident by providing a comprehensive range of services for our customers. We have developed a suite of invaluable services to offer you in the event of an accident.
With just one call, we will:
Recover your vehicle, if it is legally undriveable, to one of our ‘Preferred Smash Repairers’
Recommend repairers that insist on using only genuine parts from an authorised dealer
Plus, if the accident wasn’t your fault, we can arrange for a replacement vehicle (if you were the driver) for the duration of the repair (note, conditions apply*).
Once you have assessed everyone involved in the accident is uninjured and not in need of medical attention, and are considering the recovery and repair of your vehicle, your first call should be to us.
