The Triton Double Cab is ergonomically designed which is important when you spend a lot of time behind the wheel. There's plenty of leg, shoulder and head room in the front and back seats to easily carry five adults.
Just because you’re working doesn’t mean you shouldn’t enjoy the ride – with the in-dash, MP3 player compatible audio system you can always set your own soundtrack for the day ahead. GLX models feature iPod and USB connectivity.
No matter what the weather is like, you’ll always be comfortable on the job with air-conditioning standard on Triton.
Even though it’s tough on the outside, you don’t have to rough it in the cabin, the Triton boasts a stylish interior and sophisticated electronic controls. The multi-function display provides endless information about your driving environment with compass, barometer, altimeter, range to empty reading, average fuel consumption and the temperature outside the car.
Triton has the latest hands-free phone technology, with Bluetooth® connectivity*. This allows you to make and receive calls at the touch of a button. All this is integrated through the vehicle’s audio system, automatically cutting through the radio when a call comes in allowing you to get the most out of your work day.*Phone connectivity depends on phone compatibility.
To add to the style of both the GL-R and GLX-R, there’s a luxurious leather-wrapped steering wheel. The leather gear knob on GLX-R also gives it an extra touch of refinement.
Triton has got every detail covered to make even little tasks easier with features such as power windows and power mirrors. Even the rear windscreen on the GLX-R is power-controlled so you can focus on the real job at hand.
The Sports Mode on GLX-R allows you to switch between the ease of an automatic or enjoy the control of a manual without a clutch. The clutch free operation reduces the rev and torque loss usually associated with engaging gears, meaning you can maintain momentum in off-road situations.
MMCS not only directs you to your destination with Satellite Navigation touch screen functionality, but puts you in control of vehicle information like maintenance instructions and audio settings. The system, optional on Triton GLX-R, is also iPod compatible.
With audio controls constantly at your fingertips in the GLX-R, you can turn up the volume and access your favourite tunes without taking your focus off the road.
A rear sports bar adds a tough element to the hard working Triton GLX-R.
The Triton Double Cab’s Long Bed provides plenty of space for your carrying needs. The pick up models have a huge 1505mm in length and 460mm in height so you can load those bulky items in with no problems. Couple this with impressive power and torque and you can be confident that the Triton can move whatever you need it to with ease.
Tinted glass at the rear of the Triton GLX-R provides added privacy to help keep your cargo out of sight.
A large, tinted window in the rear of the cabin provides clear visibility and in the GLX-R it is power-controlled for added convenience.
You’ll find it tough to beat the powerful towing capacity of the Triton. The 4x4 diesel range can tow up to a huge three tonnes making it ideal for busy farms or worksites. Towing the farm equipment, dirt bikes, caravan or boat has never been easier.
The 16-inch alloy wheels on the GL-R and 17-inch on the GLX-R complete the sporty looks of both Triton exteriors.
Remote central locking with keyless entry means it’s easier for you to unlock and lock-up when you’re in a hurry.
An alloy nudge bar adds a tough edge to the front of the Triton GL-R and GLX-R.
Fog lamps at the front of the Triton GLX-R improve visibility in tough driving conditions – and also add a touch of sportiness and sophistication to the exterior.
The largest Triton ever also boasts the biggest cabin ever. Triton will easily carry 5 passengers with its rear seat roominess and increased head, leg and shoulder room. Ride comfort is also improved with next-generation cabin quietness, decreased vibration and interior noise levels.
Sturdy side impact bars accompany the Mitsubishi RISE safety system to provide the highest possible level of structural safety.
The Mitsubishi Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) system means you and your passengers are protected by the latest energy-absorbing chassis design and technology. In the event of a collision, impact-absorbing crushable zones are designed to absorb and dissipate energy away from the passenger compartment, keeping you and your passengers cocooned and protected.
With the option of full-time 4WD, high and low range 4WD and selectable 2WD mode, Super Select 4WD on Triton GLX-R gives you more control when you need it in everyday situations like bad weather or difficult surfaces. The 4H (full-time 4WD) mode allows driving in four wheel drive mode on hard surfaces thanks to the flexibility of a centre-differential with viscous coupling unit.
The Triton’s Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) delivers lock-free braking power and control. Even in emergency braking conditions on slippery or uneven roads, it will help you steer safely around obstacles without losing traction. Standard on GLX models and above, optional on GL.
Triton 4x4 models are among the safest utes on the road according to the Australasian New Car Assessment (ANCAP), which tests the level of occupant protection provided in serious front and side crashes.
To provide essential protection in the event of a frontal collision, Triton is fitted with driver and front passenger SRS airbags as standard. Side and curtain SRS airbags are also available on the 2.5L double cabs for optimal protection in the event of a side-on collision. The side airbags inflate from the side of the seat to protect the torso while the curtain airbags activate from the roof to protect the head.
Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) actively monitors different wheel speeds and evenly distributes brake pressure across the front and rear wheels of the Triton, depending on vehicle load. Under heavier loads, EBD provides shorter braking distances while enhancing overall control.
Triton is fitted with a Rear Limited Slip Differential* to provide superior traction in slippery conditions through the transferal of driving torque from the slipping wheel to the wheel with traction. 4WD models are also available with an optional rear diff lock for those incredibly tough situations. *Standard equipment LSD is deleted when optional Active Stability & Traction Control is added.
Triton’s rear diff lock provides superior traction for heavy duty four wheel driving at low speeds. With the rear diff locked, both wheels receive the same amount of driving force – making it easier to conquer difficult terrain. The rear diff lock is easily engaged and disengaged with the switch mounted on the instrument panel.
A power-assisted rack and pinion set-up means the new Triton’s 11.8m kerb-to-kerb turning circle provides exceptional manoeuvrability.
Offering the latest in Common Rail turbo diesel technology, this addition to the Triton range features an enhanced variable geometry turbo charger (VGT). The VGT works to optimize the turbine flow rate in order to achieve high torque at low speeds and maximised power at high speeds. The result is excellent emission control, fuel efficiency and high engine power for a superior performance that you can't argue with.
The 5-speed 2.4L four cylinder 16 valve petrol engine is ideal for jobs around town providing impressivefuel efficiency. Combined with its power and torque this engine is a proven performer that will never let you down. Standard on GL Single Cab and available on 4x2 GLX Double Cab.
Generating impressive power and torque for all of your towing and carrying needs the 2.5 litre diesel also offers exceptional fuel efficiency to take you further for less.
Sports Mode available on the GLX-R means you can switch between the ease of an automatic or enjoy the control of a manual without a clutch. The clutch free operation reduces the rev and torque loss usually associated with changing gears meaning you can maintain momentum in off road situations.
Helps you maintain traction on the most slippery or rugged of surfaces. This intelligent system automatically controls the engine output, so driving wheels are prevented from spinning. Sensing loss of traction in an independent wheel, it applies braking force to that wheel and sends extra power and torque to other wheels with traction to keep you moving.
The 2.4L petrol models come with a smooth-shifting 5-speed manual gearbox. The 2.5L diesel models have the choice of the 5-speed manual or a responsive 4-speed automatic. The GLX-R automatic model is a 5-speed with Sports Mode.
The Rear Differential Lock (RDL) is useful for negotiating low traction surfaces such as sand, mud, snow-covered or rocky surfaces or boat ramps. It locks the rear differential, which means that both rear wheels have an equal torque split, regardless of whether either wheel has traction. This ensures torque is not transferred to the wheel with the least traction, making it easy to conquer difficult terrain. The RDL option is easily engaged and disengaged – and the switch is mounted on the Triton’s instrument panel.
Enabling smooth control from the driver’s seat, the Easy Select 4WD system incorporates 2WD High Range, 4WD High Range and 4WD Low Range; three transfer modes to deliver high-speed driving comfort and superior traction for off road situations. When added traction is required, the free-wheeling front differential enables you to shifton-the-fly (at speeds of up to 100km/h) from 2WD to 4WD high range mode, and when conquering the roughest terrain, Triton’s Easy Select 4WD also offers a 4WD low range mode.
